OUR MISSION STATEMENT

 

St. Sylvester, is a Roman Catholic Parish of the Archdiocese of Chicago, our common mission is that entrusted by Jesus to his apostles when He founded the Church: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age” (Matt 28:19-20).  In keeping with our church mission, our dedicated volunteer catechists and support staff, of our formal bilingual Religious Education Program, we prepare students in grades 1 through 12 for the reception of sacraments, providing opportunities for liturgical celebrations and encouraging both students and parents to take an active part in our faith community.

 

NUESTRA MISION

 

San Silvestre, como Parroquia, forma parte de la Arquidiócesis de Chicago, nuestra misión  es la que fue encomendada por Jesús a sus apóstoles al fundar la Iglesia.  “Vayan pues y hagan discípulos de todos los pueblos, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, el Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo, enseñándoles todo lo que les he encomendado.  Yo estaré con ustedes hasta el fin de los tiempos”. (Mateo 28:19-20).  Siguiendo esta Misión de la Iglesia, nuestro dedicados catequistas voluntarios y demás , ayudan a las familias en la iniciación y la formación en la fe de los estudiantes en las escuelas publicas.  A través de nuestro programa formal bilingüe de  Educación Religiosa, preparamos a nuestros estudiantes en grados del 1 al 12 para recibir los sacramentos, proporcionándoles la oportunidad para la celebración litúrgica, invitando a estudiantes y padres a tomar parte activa en nuestra comunidad de fe.
